David Emerick’s remarkable life in golf began at the age of 10 at Lorain’s Emerald Valley Golf Club, and his first tournament victory came one year later. With instruction and constant practice, his game became competitive and he played throughout Ohio during the period of 1968-75, winning over 30 junior golf tournaments.

David attended Lorain Catholic High School, was the golf team leader and was recognized as the most outstanding high school golfer in Northeastern Ohio from 1972-75. He was a four-year letterman, three-year team captain and MVP, two-time Sectional champ and was the District tournament runner-up. He continued his winning ways in amateur golf as Lorain City Champion – AAA, Lorain County Golf Champion and Lorain
County District Golf Association Better-Ball Champ.

David relocated to Southern California in 1980 to begin his professional golf career and worked at a number of San Diego area golf clubs as an assistant professional and later as a teaching professional at several prominent clubs. He has been hailed as a Top 50 Teacher in California by Golf Digest magazine and received numerous awards, including being named San Diego Teacher of the Year.

He was elected to membership in the PGA in 1988 and played on the PGA mini-tour for seven years with moderate success, winning 27 mini-tour events and local PGA titles in 25 years of professional golf and qualified for the National PGA Club Pro Championship.

David is president of the non-profit North County Junior Golf Association, which he and his wife, Marsha, founded in 1988 to make junior golf accessible for boys and girls ages 5-18. Currently the association has 400 members and conducts 26 tournament events yearly for all age groups.
David and a group of investors lease the Goat Hill Park Golf Course in Oceanside, California, where he is the Head Golf Professional and hosts about 20 junior tournaments annually.

He and his wife reside in Oceanside, California, with their two adult sons.
